Kate Larkin
Deputy Head of Secretariat, EMODnet

Dr Kate Larkin is Deputy Head of the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) Secretariat and a Director at Seascape Belgium. She has a multidisciplinary background, gaining a degree in Natural Sciences before training as a marine biogeochemist at the University of Southampton and National Oceanography Centre (UK) gaining a PhD in 2006. For more than a decade Kate has worked in the European marine science landscape, increasingly at the science-policy-industry interface, with 8 years based in Belgium. Her main focus is on ocean observation and marine research infrastructures, connecting ocean data to information and applications for society.
